Hello!
My name is Rachel, and I was born at 5:35 p.m. on February 8th, 2001
at Arlington Hospital in
Arlington, Virginia. My mommy had to have
surgery to get me into the world five weeks before I was supposed to
be born. Daddy says she's doing okay.
Here are some things that have happened recently:

| Another diaper graduation! Now I'm wearing "Size 1" Huggies!

| I got weighed at the doctor's office. Ten whole pounds!

| Mommy and Daddy decided that I could graduate from those tight,
leaky preemie diapers to newborns. Leg room! Yahoo!

| February 20, 2001
| I came home from the hospital.

Photos
Mommy and Daddy tell me I'm adorable, but since I don't understand
what a mirror is yet, I really don't know. Daddy's been taking lots
of pictures of me. He keeps them on his photos
page.
Speaking of pictures, I got hold of Daddy's camera and some film he
had in the closet. I've started working on my
first movie.
What does my name mean?
My first and middle name are after my great grandmothers, Rachel
Joseph (Daddy's grandma) and Mary Cruz (Mommy's grandma).
Literally translated, my Hawaiian name means gift from heaven.
You pronounce it pretty much like it's spelled:
mah-kah-nah-oh-kah-lani.
